The Women In Business Organisation is a forum established as a networking platform to empower economically marginalised women to empower themselves. Through this platform Women are encouraged to take control of their businesses, and to facilitate poverty eradication, facilitating equal access to economic and productive resources, for the purpose of increasing business confidence, to gain skills and knowledge, to set their own agenda's and timetables, utilising gender empowerment principles. This platform is for the purpose of information sharing amongst groups of entrepreneurial diverse women.

Ali Engelbrecht serves as a voluntary Director on the Board of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business. Ali Engelbrecht is a Mentor within the Cheri Blair Foundation for Women. In the urban areas there are a proliferation of formal support structures in the form of women’s organisations and chambers, but there is no support mechanism available in the rural areas. This is where the need is most needed as many women are battling with the various roles and responsibilities they play. In addition to being an entrepreneur, often as a sole trader, they also have families and financial responsibilities. Without the support and encouragement of fellow entrepreneurs a lot of ladies who are phenomenal entrepreneurs flounder without a network of supportive relationships. The growth of Women In Business has enabled a formal association to be formed with the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business and for Women In Business to offer services of its own to entrepreneurial women. These functions are exceptionally popular and are always well attended. WIB has been given opportunities to present at national and international women and business conferences, workshops and training sessions alongside and together with leaders and game changers from around the world. Through WIB, Ali Engelbrecht, was acknowledge for the work it has done in the Social and Welfare Sector by being awarded 2014 Country Winner Africa’s Most Influential Women In Business and Government. Ali Engelbrecht was also acknowledged in 2014 as an Entrepreneurial Pioneer Organisation. Women In Business offers entrepreneurial women the opportuntities to form networks and friendships through social interactions and to personalise support required which are offered online or face to face. Women In Business encourages women to be confident in their skills and abilities. Women In Business offers online support and mentorship to entrepreneurially minded women. Founder, Owner and Brand Ambassador, Ali Engelbrecht, encourages supportive relationships and linkages through participatiion in conferences, training, workshops, online interactions and face to face consultations. Through Ali Engelbrecht Women In Business is a member of Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business. Ali serves as a Director of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce. Ali Engelbrecht is a mentor of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women. This strengthens the ability of entrepreneurial women to form alliances which will lead to enabling environments. The platform which Women In Business offers are for clients to use to enhance professional excellence.
